Challenge:

A US-based energy company operating globally sought to develop a core Inclusion and Diversity curriculum for individual contributors, supervisors, and managers in various functions with the objective of creating an organizational understanding on the business impact of inclusive behaviors and fostering an environment where all ideas are heard.

Solution:

Aperian Global worked closely with the company’s learning leaders and business managers to design a globally consistent, modular workshop that communicated a consistent organizational approach to the topic while ensuring critical regional and business-specific successes and challenges were addressed in delivery.

The program was successfully rolled out to leadership teams, functional/divisional groups, HR business partners, I&D leaders, and first and second line supervisors across the globe. The content of the workshops included:

  • Inclusive Leadership behaviors were introduced, applied and assessed during workshops
  • An active learning approach for Unconscious Bias, Micro-Inequities & Micro-Affirmations was developed that incorporated experiential exercises, role play scenarios, and real-time feedback
  • Practical next steps were developed to impact workplace culture at the team, functional and organizational level
Results:

Over 3,800 employees across all functional groups and 22 global locations participated in the workshop, which has undergone continuous customization as the organization evolved in its I&D journey. Outside of learning delivery, Aperian Global continues to support initiatives to sustain momentum with I&D committees, HR leaders, and Employee Resource Groups.
