Aperian Global provides a wide range of consulting and training solutions that enable employees to increase awareness, build skills and develop strategies for working successfully in a global environment.

Our training methodology focuses on both transferring knowledge and building skills. Our programs are designed to ensure full participation and an experiential learning environment.  Participants develop skills through customized exercises that simulate typical situations that they might experience in their specific jobs.   We employ a blended model of instruction that incorporates our web tools, increasing the impact of face-to-face training and providing a "before" and an "after" learning experience that supplements the training event itself.  In addition, all of our training programs include a combination of the following best practice delivery techniques:
  • Group discussions
  • Instructor presentation
  • Small group exercises
  • Case studies
  • Video clips
  • Simulations & role plays for skill building
  • Developing a personal action plan for application on the job
 Culture-General Training Programs
  • Working Globally:  This one- to two-day program is designed for employees and leaders who are currently or will be in the future:
    • working with people in global locations;
    • working virtually with colleagues, customers or vendors in remote locations; and/or
    • interacting regularly with counterparts from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Our Working Globally programs can be delivered anywhere in the world to serve the needs of your employees worldwide. It can also be delivered in an abbreviated three-hour virtual format.

Culture-Specific Training Programs

  • Working Effectively with Country X or Region Y: These one- to two-day programs are designed to meet the needs of employees and leaders who conduct business most regularly with one particular country or region, whether as business travelers, corporate-based personnel, or local nationals reporting back to headquarters. For example, a program could be focused on Working with China, Working with Germany or Working in Asia Pacific.  Further customization of the program can include a country-specific look at the cultures within cultures or key diversity variables that make a difference locally.

These programs can also be delivered anywhere in the world or in an abbreviated, three-hour virtual format.

  • Thriving in Country X:  Our one- to two-day pre-departure/post-arrival workshops provide international assignees and their families with the critical information to "thrive," not just survive, in their new country. There are four main categories covered in their cultural training:
    • Cultural Profiles -- We build side-by-side cultural profiles of the home and target cultures, as well as each participant's personal profile in areas such as leadership, decision-making, communication and negotiation styles.
    • Cultural Adaptation -- We discuss the stages of adjustment an international assignees may experience, while building an awareness of the challenges of living overseas/cross-border.
    • Lifestyle Information -- We provide a full range of customized information, developed by country specialists, on lifestyle issues such as entertaining colleagues/friends, social/business acumen, and how to maximize the experience of living and working in a new country.
    • Business Application -- In order to ensure the successful application of cultural learning to global business objectives, we assist participants in the development of action plans for key responsibilities they will have in the first 30 to 90 days.

These programs are typically offered to individual international assignees and their families to allow for discussion of personal and professional challenges facing the employee and family members, and more detailed application of skills to specific requirements. Group training options are also available.
