PRODUCT DETAILS

Missed deadlines, poor communication, and overwhelmed employees are some of the most prevalent challenges that today’s businesses face — especially global organizations, where employees may have multiple managers, competing priorities, and differing work-styles. The Managing Competing Priorities Learning Path is specifically designed to help employees work more effectively within matrixed organizational structures and handle the common challenges that arise. In this innovative, game-based branching scenario, the learner makes the decisions — and handles the outcomes! Learn how to manage competing tasks from different managers, establish clear priorities, and communicate with key stakeholders.

How it works:
Learners have two projects to complete, each with tight deadlines and for managers with different work and communication styles. Throughout the simulated week, new challenges arise, requiring difficult decisions that have consequences for their projects and their teams. Five different endings encourage learners to replay the scenario to achieve the best result. Learners have opportunities to reflect on how the scenario relates to their work. In addition, activities and best practices are available to improve workplace effectiveness and significantly enhance the learning experience.

The Managing Competing Priorities Learning Path will help you to:

  • Manage competing tasks from different managers that frequently arise in matrixed organizations
  • Know how to ask for help to establish clear priorities when necessary
  • Recognize how differing work styles can influence communication and decision making in a matrixed organizational structure
  • Access actionable advice and best practices for effectively communicating and working in a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Gain a better understanding of the benefits of a matrix organization
  • Develop the skills necessary for effective performance in a matrix organization
